Rose Care Suggestions
It’s a mad season because everything is so far ahead but despite lots of young shoots on your roses, you could start pruning them, particularly if you are in a mild area. A bit of frost won’t hurt them and who knows what the weather is going to throw at us!
It is also a good time for a winter wash to kill any over-wintering spores and also for putting on manure, preferably if the ground has dried out a bit otherwise you run the risk of compacting the soil.
We will be running a pruning course at the beginning of March (date to be confirmed) and so if you are suffering from pre pruning nerves, why not join us?
We have good stocks of a wide range of bare rooted roses – please email us for a list: info@rosebiemorton.com
It’s not too late to plant bulbs, especially in pots, to give one an uplift in spring.
